How to Transform Customer Reviews into Better Boutique Apparel

Boutique

When you have a boutique, you need to make sure that every item of clothing is appealing to your customers, and the best way to do that is to listen to customer feedback about your items and what they want to see. Here are some ways to make sure that you are listening to feedback and turning customer insights into action.

Transforming customer reviews into better apparel is an easy process, but it isn’t something that can be done just once. It takes continual effort to keep maintaining customer standards.

Collect Reviews Properly

You need to create actionable ways to receive feedback that is useful to your boutique. Good ways to do this include by using post-purchase emails, social media accounts, asking for feedback in store and asking customers to complete surveys about the clothing.

It should be specific to certain elements of the item, such as about the fit, the style, the fabric and whether it meets the standard of the price.

Analyse the reviews

You should organise the feedback you get into categories so that you can take action on certain types of clothing. This can include grouping based on the garment itself, or based on the sizing, price or fabric.

If you find that you are getting the same comments about certain items- such as a certain top is not true to size, you know you need to action this to make your apparel better and satisfy your customers more.

Likewise, positive comments mean you can take action too. Lots of reviews saying they love a paticular item means you should stock it!

Add/Remove Items Based on Customer Reviews

You can use these reviews to change the direction of your stock. For example, if there are lots of reviews complimenting the fabric of a specific item- use that as inspiration to stock more garments in that fabric, so you offer a broader choice of something that you know your customers already love.

The same applies to certain sizes and price brackets- you must look at what your customers are purchasing the most/what they think is good value for money in order to decide what other items to stock that fall within these requirements.

Tell Customers That You Act on Feedback

When you do add or change things in your stock line based on customer reviews, it is important to tell them! This builds trust with the customers, shows them that you listened to the feedback and also that they mean a lot to you and that’s why you want to stock things that they will want to buy and wear.

You could even try a poll system where customers vote on their favourite type of style, colour, pattern or clothing item and what they want to see more of!

Conclusion

Tracking feedback and reviews is a great way to update the apparel in your boutique, ensuring that it fits what your customers want and that you are maintaining a reputation as a good, loyal and excellent quality boutique. There are lots of ways you can use customer reviews to transform your boutique apparel, and doing so frequently will ensure you remain current and popular with your buyers.
